5 REASONS WHY YOU NEED TO EXERCISE TODAY!

I read a few days ago a message that someone had sent me, you know one of those messages that are supposed to make you laugh or reflect on your life or something, and it said,  “we should add a extra day to the week and call it Someday, because so much would get done that day”. Now I know that we have all kinds of projects and jobs that we all are going to have to do when that one day comes around, but one of those things should never be to get healthier. Nothing is more serious than your health and if you think otherwise well just ask your family, the ones that care and love you, and they will be sure to tell you of the importance of getting healthier not “someday” but today. But still, sometimes it is still difficult to get over that big huge hurdle of “someday”, and actually take solid steps to better one’s health especially through exercising. So with that in mind, what are some solid reasons that will encourage us to better our health exercising not just “someday” but today?
  1. A baby will not be able to sleep better than you. Have you ever been really tired? Well of course you have I do not doubt it but the thing is you were probably tired from work, the kids, the family and what may have you and that tiredness has the effect of a very bad sleep quality. Yet on the other hand have you ever been tired from exercise? Try it out sometime because physical exertion does have the great aftereffect of a great night’s sleep. (And if you are worried about the wife, kids and job well keep reading…)
  2. Serene will not begin to describe you. Exercise has shown to improve mood, help relieve anxiety and even have positive effects for people with depression. Keep in mind that of course benefits will vary from person to person.
  3. Ever need to get away but couldn’t? Well not anymore. Like we mentioned before the stresses of life may and will get to us every once in a while. Yet a very good thing to do to counteract that negative effect is nothing short of e-x-e-r-c-i-s-e. Exercise puts our minds on something different. That is why it is so important that we enjoy the type of exercise that we do. When we enjoy exercising and truly focus on it and give it the importance that it should be given  we not only benefit our bodies physically but mentally as well. Of course we  NEED to give our families the time they DESERVE too, but if we ever need to there is nothing wrong with running around the block every once in a while.
  4. Ever needed to feel good about something? Go ahead now’s the time. Ever feel down in the dumps? A little sad? Have you ever needed a little pick me up? Well the truth is exercising is one of those things that if you do it today by the time you are done with your first work out well you will already feel better. Just the fact that we were able to exercise maybe 30 minutes or something is enough to usually make someone want to tell others. In fact I am sure that we all have been there where as soon as we are done exercising and have rested a bit we want to tell others what, when and how we are exercising. So really exercise gives us immediate benefits.
  5. You will be at the top of your class, again. Not only do the passing of time have an effect on our health but also on our mental abilities. For example as we age memory problems along with a decline in cognitive ( cognitive - the process of knowing and, more precisely, the process of being aware, knowing, thinking, learning and judging ) function effects a truly extensive number of older adults. So how can we age with finesse, so to say? Well once again exercise has proven to help older adults retain their mental abilities even as they age but is that all? Well, no because similar positive effects can be found even in children. In fact University of Illinois researchers have found that physical activity may enhance the academic achievements of children by improving their attention and working memory skills. So as we can see the benefits mentally of exercise can be seen across the board from older adults even to children. So the question remains, why haven’t you started?
